Souter first lived in Achill from 1958 until the early 1960s and permanently moved to the island in the mid-1980s until her death at 93. Her work fits into the mold of Achill, Co. Mayo and its rich history of painting. The Heinrich Böll Foundation have launched a project to turn Souter’s home into an Artists’ retreat and urgently require funds.

Camille’s home in Dooagh is one of the oldest and continuously lived in cottages on the island and her studio was constructed within the bounds of an adjacent cottage. The aim of the fund is restore her former home into an Artists’ retreat and residency.

The Souter family have donated an oil by Camille that is to be raffled by our office and for every €500 donated your name will be entered in the draw on the 24th May. Equally a €2,000 donation will get you four entries. For further information please contact our office directly.
