A SUPERB SET OF TEN WALNUT MEDEA CHAIRS, by VITTORIO NOBILI, for FRATELLI TAGLIABLUE, Italian 1960s, comprising a pair of armchairs and eight single chairs, each on metal tapering legs, 83cm (h) x 46cm (w).
Vittorio Nobili studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic and trained in furniture design with the Milanese company, Frateli Tagliablue, before founding his own design company Arredamenti Vittorio Nobili in 1953. He quickly gained a reputation for his minimalist and functional approach to design with avant-garde creations.
Nobilis works are exhibited in MoMA, the V&A and Milans Triennale Design Museum. Over the course of his career, Nobili has won many awards, including the prestigious Industrial Design Award - Compasso dOro prize in 1955 for this chair, The Medea. Set upon black lacquered steel legs, the walnut veneered bentwood sculpted seat follows an ergonomic form and are a perfect representation of the organic modern style.

In that case the system bids on your behalf, only up to the maximum if required. All bids are relayed to you be email, along with notification if you have been outbid.
